integrity
our pledge to you

If integrity could be said to "reside" anywhere in a business transaction, it would undoubtedly be found in the formal contract entered into by two parties. And our reputation for integrity is exactly why the type of contract we choose is so important. In the residential construction industry there are two basic types of contracts. One is the "fixed-bid contract"; the other, a "cost-plus contract." Since we put our reputation on the line with every decision we make everyday, we choose cost-plus contracting. Here's why: cost-plus contracting is more accurate, more transparent, and more flexible than fixed-bid contracting. With a carefully monitored, well managed cost-plus contract, game playing is gone.

To us accuracy in bidding simply means establishing a base price, setting our mark-up, and providing a regular accounting to you that includes original invoices and a detailed spreadsheet showing our calculations. This eliminates the "pad-the-bid" game where a contractor purposely over-estimates to cover any contingencies, then hopes to be under so he can pocket the difference at the end of the job.

Transparency eliminates the "change-order game" where unanticipated expenses are presented at the end of the process, often creating surprising and significant overruns. Our regular accounting provides a check on unnecessary spending.

Flexiblity allows you to create that special place to display your prized heirloom later and knowing exactly how that feature willaffect the final price. The flexibility of cost-plus contracting puts the decision in your hands … where it belongs.
